YANKEES: 2009 CHAMPIONS!

Yankees Capture Bronco Baseball Championship!

In the hard fought “Battle in West Seattle," at Lincoln Park on June 16, the Bronco Yankee baseball team captured the Southwest Seattle Pony Baseball 2009 Bronco championship in a hard fought battle with the Bronco White Sox team.

Fighting back from a 9-2 deficit, the “Boys in Pin Stripes” went on to win the championship game 12-11 in the bottom of the seventh inning. The win topped off a stellar 20-2 season, which includes a POD and playoff 5-0 record.

The Yankee team, made up of Ben Wexler, Kevin Stordahl, Jordan Sagmoen, Carter Mensing, Trent Moury, Julius Chu-Eneliko, Marco Calderon, Jack Price, Jake George, Thomas Lange, Max Loorem, and Bryan Karl, celebrated after receiving the tournament championship trophies from league president Paul Leonardo.

FOCUS, CONSISTENCY, TEAMWORK... DEFINE YANKEES

As the Yankees continue on their journey through the first half of the 2009 season, observers have noted the focus, consistency, and teamwork that seems to be defining the Yankee personality. Although winning has been fun, the true reward has been the ongoing improvement, elevated maturity, and positive team chemistry that has been evident. GREAT JOB!

OPENING DAY WIN FOR YANKEES


After league president, Paul Leonardo, threw out the first pitch of the SW Seattle PONY Baseball 2009 season, your Yankees kicked off their 2009 campaign with a hard fought win over the impressive Athletics. The 7-2 victory,on Monday April 6th, came as a result of a strong defensive and pitching performance, as the Yankee bats also came alive. As the team sported their new "pin stripes", the veteran Yankee players showed their experience, while the newest Yankee additions certainly made their presence felt.
